mixed xylene market was slow as buyers had low demand for spot parcels. The market was
well-stocked with plenty of spot interest, but the supply was short. The demand was segmented as solvent grade MX saw less
consumption than MX for blending. The
gasoline-naphtha spread increased, reaching $160.75/mt data March 17. Participants described the paraxylene market as
"dead", as it was still illiquid. A producer stated that "no one wants any
paraxylene." The market for
orthoxylene was similar as the soft demand kept trading activity low. OX production rates in Europe were low due to the continued
