European Toluene : Stable Market Fundamentals / The buying appetite remains unchanged / Pockets of higher interest for Q4

The demand for European toluene on the spot market was largely unchanged during the week ending Sept. 20, despite a stronger gasoline industry. Participants noted that the fundamentals of the market had not changed much, with a stable supply and a poor overall demand. A trader stated that the market was "still weak in general". There were pockets of greater interest in the product, however, as players began to prepare for the fourth-quarter. A producer stated that "we are beginning to see renewed interest in a previously stable market." In other markets, the Amsterdam- Rotterdam/Antwerp hub saw gasoline stocks rise 7.7% in a week to 989,00 mt and naphtha stock increase 8.5% to 509,000mt.
