Trading activity in Europe for low density recycled polyethylene remained muted during the week of July 31 due to a quiet holiday season. The spot price for the material remained stable due to a relatively stable fundamentals of supply and demand, but a trader stated that orders for recycled LDPE had shown signs of improvement. The trader said that the demand for transparent material was stronger than for black pellets. This market, he added, is a buyer’s market as there are large amounts of supplies available. The trader said that exports to Asia from Europe have been weak, as Asia has refused to pay higher prices than those quoted in Europe.
