European recycled LDPE: Recycling companies test higher offers when supply is tight / Recyclers try to raise prices on the basis of tight supply / Low margin prospects on high feedstock costs

Supply shortages at the pellet and feedstock level were attributed to the collation-shrink grade of R-LDPE. A recycler at PRSE said that bale feedstock can reach up to Eur650-Eur800/mt. It also tested translucent pellet offers at the highest level of this year and would test if demand would accept it in the next few days. R-LDPE transparent pellets were priced at Eur1,110/mt DDPNorthwestEurope on June 19. This was up Eur10/mt for the day, and Eur30/mt for the week. However, recyclers reported a challenging operation environment.
