The European recycled polyethylene terephthalate spot market saw healthy supply levels and poor demand continue to dampen price increases in the week ending June 3. Market participants noted that end-consumer demand across Europe remained largely unchanged, leading to fewer consumers taking to the spot market in search of additional volumes. Ongoing stocking activity was heard to dampen any uptick in pricing for flakes and pellets as the market continues to prepare for the expected influx of demand from the 2025 single-use plastic directive.
