to weak demand, spot European and Turkish PVC prices dropped in the week ending
March 22. According to sources, the European market was affected by a
surge in US volumes. The flow of material from the US has slowed down, but
a producer said that it would continue to monitor the situation over the next
few weeks. Despite the Easter holiday, demand in Europe is expected remain
steady throughout April. Producers indicated that they expect buying
interest to increase in May. Subdued demand has meant that producers have
had difficulty passing on the March ethylene contract price
