European Propylene: Stable prices amid seasonal slowdown / Moerdijk cracker back online, Litvinov still offline / LyondellBassell's European assets are under review

In the week ending August 9, the European spot propylene markets were stable, despite the continued slowdown due to the summer holidays. The polymer grade propylene 3-to-30-day forward delivered free to Northwest Europe was priced at Eur954.50/mt August 9, down Eur1.50/mt from the previous week. A trader stated that "the usual summer dip is happening with countries in South America, the demand [is] nonexistent here. Plants have closed." According to sources, the availability of propylene on the land markets was unchanged over the past week. Production rates were low, and the material's supply was slightly constrained.
