Participants' discussions on the European propylene spot markets were relatively quiet during the week of August 30, but they became more active towards the end as the September contract price was settled. Market sources reported that the European propylene contract price was set at EUR 1,095/mt for September on August 30, a decrease of EUR 30 from the previous month. The decrease in the settlement price was due to a drop in feedstock naphtha prices across the entire month. As of August 30, the average spot price for August naphtha was $658.64/mt CIF Northwest Europe, down $28.11 compared to July.
