In the week leading up to September 4, European polypropylene market prices were generally stable as participants began negotiations for the coming month. The end of the summer holidays on the continent did not immediately affect pricing. Market participants were hesitant to commit volumes and prices for the month due to a range of contradictory trends. The underlying demand for materials remained low despite the weakness in the derivatives markets. However, access to material was still restricted in certain pockets of the market due to the ongoing shortage of imported material and the outages that continue across the continent.
