The European polyethylene terephthalate spot market saw lower offers in the week ending July 3, as buyer appetite began to weaken. Market participants noted softer demand for PET as consumers are heard to hold sufficient virgin material amid ongoing lackluster end consumer demand across Europe, despite entering the summer months. Sources said poor weather across the continent is dampening any uptick in end-user consumption. "There is no issue with finding virgin material," a converter said.
