European Nylon Chain: Nylon prices plummet amid weak demand / Market remains muted despite healthy supply / Nylon 66 spot price falls Eur100/mt

Prices across the European nylon value-chain fell during the week ending August 27, due to a combination of a weakening demand and a healthy supply, which put downward pressure on the spot prices. Prices fell in all market segments except for cyclohexane, which remained the same across the value chains.
Cyclohexane
According to a reliable source, the cyclohexane demand remained weak. Market fundamentals remained unchanged from the previous weeks. The price stability came despite slight increases in upstream pricing, as feedstock benzene CIF ARA closed up $1 from Aug. 21-27 to $1,015/mt. The cyclohexane price at Eur 1,320/mt DDP North Europe was unchanged for the day and the week. This is due to a slight increase in the feedstock benzene prices, but also weak demand.
