European Glycols : Di-ethylene Spot prices fall due to weak demand / DEG Demand weakness Forces Further Price Discounting / Ample supply is a factor in softer MEG Demand

The European glycol supply continued to affect the market during the week ending July 26. Demand is now lower as most consumers are shut down for the summer. The remaining supply was long due to buyers retreating for their summer maintenance shutdowns. Some traders and distributers were indicating prices as high as EUR610/mtFCA. Other suppliers, however, said that the current demand situation made it difficult to meet these prices. One trader reported that they had sold trucks for Eur580/mt FCA Antwerp. Another trader, however, said that it had made an even lower offer at Eur570-575/mt FCA Antwerp and had not been successful in selling any material.
