European EVA: Summer holidays have a lull in market trading / August activity is lower than other months / Borealis lifts force majeure at Antwerp LDPE and EVA plant

The spot price of ethylene vinyl-acetate in Europe remained unchanged during the week ending August 14, with most market participants remaining on the sidelines due to the ongoing summer holiday season across the majority of the region. The producer stated that the overall market fundamentals for polymers had been stable in the past two week, meaning there hasn't been a real change in price. They do expect some price changes towards the end of the current month. EVA is made using the same method as low density polyethylene. The production can easily be switched depending on the more profitable option. According to another producer, August is usually a slower month for trading, as many converters close their operations during the holidays. This is especially true in southern France and Italy....
