European Ethylene : Inland Material availability is still limited / Sources report Libyan material present on coast / Average naphtha price down $26.57/mt since July

The availability of volumes on the European ethylene inland market was constrained during the week ending August 23, due to low cracker runs and domestic outages. Data shows that the spot price for three-to-30-day free-delivered Northwest European ethylene was Eur891.50/mt, up Eur14/mt from last week. The demand for immediate cargos was constant throughout the week. However, some sources were citing low expectations that the demand would last until September. A trader on the coastal market cited the limited space to import US material due to the arbitrage being still closed, but noted that the availability of competitive Libyan materials was keeping the supply available.
