The price of caustic soda in Europe has risen due to an increase in demand from southern European hubs. We received inquiries from all parts of Europe. The European Central Bank lowered interest rates in April for the first time since 2019. This was prompted by a belief that inflation could be controlled. The data revealed that capacity utilization in the month of April was 67.7%. This is up from 61.9% in the month of April 2023 but lower than the level of 67.9% in March. A source reported a jump in interest from the Mediterranean region. A southern European buyer wanted to buy 6,000 mt EDC in July. The spot VCM price in the US increased on July 4, amid firmer PVC.
