In the week ended Nov. 15, discussions for ethylene remained largely unchanged in Northeast Asia, with many participants reporting that their buying and selling indicators remained unchanged. In China, some support was still evident due to plant trials in November and December. Some buyers remained on the sidelines, as they had already purchased cargoes in the previous week and did not feel the need to purchase additional volumes due to downstream weakness. The overall sentiment was negative due to a $40.50/mt drop in the price of key feedstock naphtha in the past week. According to multiple sources, most participants were focused on negotiations of term contracts for 2025. Prices fell in Southeast Asia due to weak markets for polyethylene. The selling and buying indicators were both lower than last week....
