In the week ending Sept. 13, the Asian ethylene market was characterized by low trading activity. Some participants stayed away from the market due to upstream volatility and weakness downstream. Sources reported limited offers and bids in the past week due to volatile crude oil prices and naphtha. Sources said that cargoes for the month of October were still available as buyer sentiment was lower than expected because derivatives performance has been weaker. Products such as polyethylene and styrene are in trouble.
