Asian Polyoxymethylene prices fall due to weak demand / Quiet markets across NE Asia / Industry waits for news on US tariffs and China policy

In the week ending Jan. 15, Asian polyoxymethylene prices continued to fall as demand was tepid. Polyoxymethylene CIF China was down $20/mt from the previous week to $1,470/mt for the week ending January 15. This is below the offers of $1,480-1,600/mt. Participants noted that the market was quiet, particularly as the Lunar New Year holiday approached. As we approach the festive season, the market is a bit stagnant, said a producer in Northeast Asia. "We have lowered our CIF China price below $1,500/mt, to match the current regional conditions." Due to the approaching holidays, the polymer market has been quite slow. One regional trader stated that the polyoxymethylene price this week remained unchanged compared to last week.
