Asian Ethylene trade week concludes on a quiet note, with little discussion / Rangebound Discussion Levels in the Market / China domestic offers Yuan 100/mt Wow

The Asian markets for ethylene were relatively quiet during the week of trading ending February 21. There was little firm discussion. The week-on-week changes in buying and selling indicators resulted in limited transactions. Buyers cited concerns over downstream weakness and an uncertain near-term demand as the main reason for their buying indications. In the face of a tighter March cargo supply pool, sellers were heard at $900/mt or above CFR NE Asia. The Chinese domestic market saw a weekly increase of Yuan 100/mt to Yuan 7,700/mt. Southeast Asia's demand was low due to the weak downstream polyethylene market. Despite turnarounds in the area, operating rates fell. However, a sluggish ethylene demand led to a lack of ethylene trades. The C+F Japan Naphtha Marker was down $1.25/mt on a day-to-day basis...
