Asian ethylene: Stable amid thin trading and weak demand / Japan's ethylene output up 9% MOM in Dec / ICE March Brent Futures at $78.28/b

In the wake of rangebound discussions, the Asian ethylene markets remained largely stable during the week ending Jan. 24, 2018. Sources said that demand was still weak, despite the fact that supply was considered to be slightly tight. Several market participants prefer to discuss on a formula-based basis due to the near-term uncertainties. The selling indications remained at a premium of $15/mt CFR Northeast Asia while the buying indications remained $10/mt CFR NE Asia. Discussions on the Chinese domestic market were steady at Yuan 7,500/mt. In Southeast Asia, the selling indications ranged from $950 to $990/mt CFR Southeast Asia. The buying indications ranged between $900 and $910/mt CFR Southeast Asia. The ICE March Brent futures fell 80 cents/b, to $78.28/b by 4:30 pm (830 GMT), Singapore time on January 24....
