at $950/mt CFR Northeast Asia on March 22nd and $970/mt CFR SE Asia on March
22, in a quiet market. The
emergence of naphtha supply continues to make market participants uncertain. The emergence of naphtha supply is affecting ethylene
upstream production margins. A trader from
Southeast Asia stated that this has created uncertainty in the ethylene market,
making it more difficult to discuss cargoes. The benchmark C+F Japan Naphtha marker was up $2.75/mt to
$624.5/mt as of the March 22 Asian close. The
ethylene-naphtha spread was $325.5/mt. This is higher than the average spread
of $250/mt by integrated producers and lower than the spread of $300-$350/mt by
