Asian Ethylene : Discussions backed by tight supply / March limited availability / Sales indicators higher than last week

The tight supply of ethylene in March continued to support discussions in the Asian markets, said several participants on February 12. A buyer said that "Selling Ideas are definitely Higher for March Cargoes, as there is a clear shortage of Material Available." "However it is difficult for us raise bids as downstream demand and margins are still weak." The producers cited tighter supplies and volatile naphtha price fluctuations to justify their offers. Few said they still had cargoes available in the remaining week. Several producers had already sold their cargoes during the week that ended on February 7.
