The price of ethylene in Asia fell on June
13, as the bearish mood continued amid abundant supplies. Asian ethylene dropped
$5/mt per day, to $725/mt CFR Northeast Asia on June 13. This is the lowest
price since August 27, 2020 when it was $720/mt. The downstream polyethylene market remained stable with CFR
Far East Asia pricing at $930/mt. On June
13, the price differential between PE and Ethylene was $205/mt, higher than the
usual breakeven of $150/mt. The bearish
outlook for the Asian PE market in the near term did not stimulate demand for
spot ethylene. The CFR Japan naphtha fell
