Prices of ethyl acetate in Asia were volatile during the week ending September 18 due to the China holiday for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Northeast Asia-based trader: "Our prices remained the same, but demand slowed... maybe [demand] returns after national holiday in China." Formosa Plastics' three ethyl Vinyl Acetate plants in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong continue to run at full capacity in September. There are no plans for a turnaround until the end of 2024. Mailiao in Taiwan has a capacity of 170,000 and 80,000 mt/year. The EVA plant in Ningbo can produce 100,000 mt/year. The company source stated that "price is stable this week (despite the mid-autumn holiday)". The high EVA CFR China is stable and up $60/mt from the previous week, at $1130/mt.
