In the week ending August 28, prices of ethyl acetate in Asia remained stable, despite a slower trading period. The medium EVA grade with an 18%-21% content of VAM CFR China remained stable at $1,140/mt on the same day, despite a muted market. The high EVA grade also remained unchanged at $1,060/mt in the face of a stable Chinese domestic market. On the domestic market, EVA high grade was quoted at Yuan 9,700/mt. This is equivalent to $1.139/mt based on import parity. Prices in China remain resilient despite a decline in demand. A Chinese source told Reuters that the price was likely to stay steady this week.
