End-users continue using LPG to the maximum / Asian naphtha/LPG spread shrinks to a three-month-low / Indian Oil offers up 140,000 mt of naphtha to be loaded in June

Sources said that the Asian naphtha markets remained stable on May 9, as users continued to use LPG at steam crackers to take advantage of its substantial discount to naphtha despite weak fundamentals in demand and supply. Brokers maintained the backwardation structure, as they pegged the Mean of Japan Naphtha Swaps Time Spread at $8.50/mt Asian Trade May 9, the same as the previous session. The Asian naphtha/LPG spread has narrowed to a three-month-low as CFR Japan naphtha cargoes were assessed at $667.125/mt in Asian trade on May 9, down 1.59 % on the same day.
