Prior to August 13, the European acrylates markets were characterized by stable fundamentals. Low demand and low supply were the main concerns. Sources report that the spot butyl-acrylate market remained stable during the week. The persistently low domestic demand was the main concern, as it showed no signs to improve. Polymerscan, August 14, 2024, was a subject of discussion as to possible supply constraints. September is expected to be more limited. Arbitrage with Asia was closed and several producers planned summer maintenance. This contributed to a tighter supply. Sea freight rates are said to be declining despite the arbitrage being closed.
