The European glycol supply was measured to
be weighing on the bulk markets in the week ending February 24, after US
delayed import ships arrived. This was due to the US production shutdowns that
followed Storm Elliot's death in December. A distributor stated that prices will be lower
than in the weeks prior to this. Also, the
length of supply in the barge market had resulted in a wider spread of
barge-trucks. This had been weighing on suppliers since last year. Although
truck profitability was improving, overall trade activity remained low. "Most
spot markets are quiet, and the only need is contract business same as
