MEG Demand Wanes Due to Delays in Import Ship Arrivals / DEG prices continue to decline

In the week leading up to May 10th, European glycol prices fell. MEG and DEG were both affected by a combination longer supply expectations as well as a softer demand sentiment. The expectation at the end of April/beginning of May was that the import ships would be held up, which would support pricing. This week, however, the view has changed. Sources on the market said they expected them to arrive in May. This view led buyers back. A trader stated that there was no demand for MEG, as imports were plentiful and arriving in the second half May. He also noted that prices had fallen slightly.
