MEG prices drop by 0.50 cent / Nan Ya's EG2 restart has been postponed

The US Monoethylene Glycol Spot Price fell by 0.50 cents in the week ending April 26. This is consistent with the declining Asia Spot Price, or ASP. According to feedback from the market, US MEG prices are influenced by Asian spot prices. Offers often come at a discount compared to ASP. The spot price was $420/mt, FOB USG. This is also a $90/mt discount to the ASP of $510/mt, which was assessed on April 26. A producer confirmed that diethylene glycol was available at 35 cents/lb, FOB USG. He also heard offers up to 38 cents/lb on trucks. Nan Ya Plastics EG2 restart, originally scheduled for late march, has now been pushed back to the May 5th instead of April 26th.
