The Asian MTBE market was in a downward trend on May 13 after a few sessions of recovery last week. The FOB Singapore indicator fell $6/mt from day to day, falling to $878/mt. However, the MTBE FOB Singapore Factor was stable, remaining at 1.136. On May 13, there were no registrations for the Market on Close process. China's producers also began to feel the general market downturn, as CFR Straits offers for June cargoes were in the $920-930s/mt range. Sources said that it appeared Singapore traders were starting to lower the prices of CFR Singapore/Straits cargoes for June.
