On May 11, EDC: Asian diethylene dichloride
remained unchanged from the previous week, at $310-330/mt for Far East Asia. Discussions on spot prices were few. The
suppliers were waiting and watching as a result of the short supply, while the
buyers were not interested in buying due to the weakening upstream ethylene
markets. Due to the Middle East's tight supply, spot
supplies are limited. The CFR Northeast Asia upstream ethylene price
dropped $30/mt from last week to $870/mt, on May 11. VCM: Asian
Vinyl Chloride Monomer remained stable from week to week at $640/mt for Far
East Asia, and $690/mt for Southeast Asia. VCM
participants were waiting for new downstream polyvinylchloride offers due in
