EDC: Asian prices of ethylene dichloride trended upward in the week to June 13 due to stronger downstream markets. Sources said that the market was strengthening due to strong VCM and PVC activity in downstream markets. The price of Asian vinyl chloride monomer was stable week-on-week at $620/mt for CFR FE Asia, and $680/mt for CFR SE Asia, despite a tightening of VCM supplies. The week was quiet, according to sources, as participants awaited new offers and pricing direction.
