EDC: Asian ethylene Dichloride at $280/mt for Far East Asia, and $290/mt for Southeast Asia on Dec. 5. The lack of spot price discussions was due to the negative margins in vinyl chloride monomer downstream production. Feedstock ethylene remained stable at $895/mt on Dec. 5. The current price of ethylene is used to calculate the Asia VCM production costs. This comes out at $627.20/mt on Dec. 5. This is much higher than current VCM prices of $550/mt for FE Asia. VCM: Asian vinyl-chloride monomer prices are stable from week to week, at $550/mt for Far East Asia (FE Asia) and $580/mt for Southeast Asia (SEA Asia), Dec. 5.
