Spreads between East and West Naphtha
continued to decline on May 30, despite weak sentiment in Asia, and strong
demand for blending in Europe. The
spread for the front month fell by 75 cents/mt and was assessed at minus
10.50/mt. This is the lowest level since April 17. According to sources, the "reverse" arbitrage is
stronger once the spread crosses below $10-15/mt. According to market sources, the European market became
stronger due to maintenance and disruptions at refineries in the area. At the
same time, the gasoline market became bullish which pushed the demand for
naphtha. According to sources, the
