The Asian styrene markets rose on June 9,
after seven sessions of declines. Upstream crude oil prices and benzene also
fell. Styrene
Monomer Markers rebounded from the previous day's plunge of $22/mt. As of 0830 GMT the front-month ICE Brent crude futures
contract dropped 98 cents/b, to $75.93/b. Upstream benzene fell $16.33/mt, to
$792/mt. Styrene monomer stocks in east
China dropped from 55,000 to 7500 mt during the week ending June 7. In the same week, a 6,000 mt shipment was heard departing
China's shores. The Southeast Asian region
has been affected by poor downstream performance. A buyer from Southeast Asia who is a polystyrene producer
