East China inventory levels drop / July crude oil futures increase $1.07/b in one day

CFR China and FOB Korean styrene markers were $1,138/mt & $1,128/mt respectively on May 13, both $7/mt lower than the previous assessment. The Chinese domestic market was reported to be experiencing a decline in discussions for Asian SM, following the drop in crude oil prices. Crude oil futures fell in the mid-afternoon Asian trading on May 13 as concerns about demand weighed down prices before the release of the key market reports from OPEC and IAEA this week. The front-month ICE Brent contract fell by $1.07/b to $83/b. Market sources reported that East China port inventories of SM for the week ending March 28th were around 45,800 mt.
