Spot export acrylonitrile prices in the US
held steady over the past week, as did domestic contracts. This was despite
spot propylene feedstock costs rising by 33% each week. There is not much
going on, aside from the [propylene] surprise which is bad news for certain. "Spot March polymer-grade propylene at 70.75 cents/lb
FD USG March 7, stable on the day and 17.5 cents/lb higher from a week ago.
Prices have been trending higher amid propane dehydrogenation unit outages.
Softening in the ammonia market is more than offset by propylene market gains,
per source feedback. Overall, ACN demand is steady in most end uses except
acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, which is bearish with lower consumer spending,
