Spot export acrylonitrile and domestic
prices firmed in the US over the week. This is based on a notional indication
of $1,450-1,490/mt FOB USGC for the week ending February 28. The price is supported by a North Asia
delivered cost in the mid-$1,500s. A source stated that was reported
in late February. "I think that [$1,400/mt] represents the
hard bottom price. According to my calculations, $1,400/mt is the
hard bottom price. Sources also mentioned new ACN capacity coming
online in Hainan province, which has pushed prices down.
