The Asian styrene markets finished lower on
June 7, due to a weaker Chinese yuan and weakness in the domestic market. Domestic China prompt
markers fell Yuan 90/mt to Yuan 7,845/mt ex-tank, which is around $956/mt based
on import parity, a $12.61/mt drop on the day. In response to the strengthening dollar, the People's Bank
of China posted a dollar/yuan exchange rate of 7.1196 as opposed to 7.1075 the
day before. According to a trader at Unv1,
the poor demand is making it difficult for both producers and traders to move
cargoes. The trader stated that Middle
Eastern producers operate at high rates, and they find it hard to find outlets
