The European acrylonitrile markets continued
to be dominated by weak fundamentals in the week ending May 23. Participants
remained pessimistic about the market's outlook and conditions. Demand from derivative
industries remained subdued, particularly from acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene
and acrylamide markets. No trading was
noted in the market during the week. Sellers did not make any bids. Oversupply has continued to put pressure on sellers. One distributor stated that they had not received any bids.
He added, "Things are not going well, we are seeing a reduction in the
offtake of some customers. It is not good for us because our tanks are
full". Spot prices continue to fall
amid weak fundamentals due to a large gap between seller and buyer price
