Asian butadiene was assessed stable on the
day at $740/mt CFR China June 6. According
to market sources, the Asian butadiene market would likely remain bearish for
the time being. Supplies are seen rising
after the turnaround season. Some market
sources said steam crackers may switch to crack more propane, which would lower
butadiene production yields, but added that such an impact would only appear
after a few months. Meanwhile, downstream
tire demand would be weak due to off-peak season, which would continue to limit
buying appetite for imported butadiene cargoes. Upstream, the CFR Japan naphtha price fell $19.75/mt on the
day to $566.625/mt June 6. The price
