The US PVC price remained unchanged on June
20 due to a weakening market and low levels activity. Export prices remained at $695-710/mt FAS
Houston for the third consecutive week on June 21. Although
lower pricing levels were reported, they were not confirmed before the Market
on Close assessment at 1:30 PM CT. One source described the outlook for
the PVC export market as "very rough... frustrating" and
"generally pessimistic." Domestic activity is currently
subdued. Prices are stable due to low activity levels and low ethylene
feedstock costs. The US Federal Reserve kept interest rates at
the same level on June 14 but indicated that two rate increases could come in
2023. PVC prices have fallen nearly 57% since January
2022 when they were $1,615/mt FAS...
