Due to limited spot discussion, the Asian propylene markets started the week with a slow start. Markers remained unchanged from the previous session. Sources said that market participants are taking a cautious stance amid uncertainty in the upstream oil markets, and their potential impact upon propylene trading sentiments and supply-demand. Demand is largely unchanged. Two market sources reported that concerns remained over the propane dehydrogenation plants' operating rates. They feared lower run rates would result if feedstock values closely tracked oil prices, which could lead to a tightening of propylene supplies in Asia. A producer stated that "this [lower PDH operating rates] will result in a tighter balance within the region."
