The US acetic acids prices were unchanged in the week ending May 9, along with the global markets. US Gulf Coast acetic at $742/mt F.O.B. USG, May 2, stable on the week considering the stability of European and Asian prices during the same period. The domestic delivered price was assessed at 33.31cents/lb. This is flat on the previous week and reflects the stability of the export market. Sources said that some US-based clients were experiencing supply problems due to the production limitations of producers. According to data released on May 6, the US exports of acetic acids were 176,543mt from January-March. This is a 19% decrease compared to the previous year.
