The premium for toluene to Eurobob in
Europe dropped to $240/mt in the week ending May. This is a $9.75/mt drop
as the demand on the toluene market decreased. The activity had dried up
by April. The start of May, despite the
approaching summer demand season. A trader
stated that the demand for toluene was bad forever. The trader said that there has been a decrease in demand for
toluene over the past days. Demand from toluene users was
also low. In other markets, naphtha
stocks in ARA fell during the week, while gasoline stocks rose. The premium for toluene over mixed xylenes (another blend
product) continued its trend into the week. However, the gap between these
two products is closing. Arbitrage
