US Gulf Coast MTBE's outright price dropped
11 cents the day of June 12 due to the underlying RBOB futures contract. MTBE on NYMEX July RBOB minus three cents/gal.
The differential was stable after dropping 24 cents the previous week. Outright
prices fell 11.06 cents, to 245.26 cents/gal. This mirrored the movements in
July RBOB which settled at 246.28cents/gal. Data
released by the Customs on June 12 shows that MTBE imports from 2023 to April were
at levels before COVID. US exports of MTBE totaled 500,100 mt
from January to April, which is just above the average for 2015-2019 of 494 800
mt. This is a significant increase over the
338,400mt average for the same time period...
