Crude oil falls $3.16/b, naphtha loses $23.25/mt / Unv1's CPC buys benzene at June wMOPK plus $32/mt

The weakness of upstream prices led to a fall in Asian benzene price by $21/mt. Crude oil futures dropped $3.16/b at the Asian close. The naphtha C+F Japan mark was down $23.25/mt for the day to $689.50/mt. The trading session was more quiet, since the Chinese market had been closed for Labor Day. The FOB Korea market saw discussions centered on June and July loading cargoes. Both flat-price and floating offers and bids were heard. CFR China market offers were made for a cargo of 12,000 mt for delivery in the second half of June at premiums of $25/mt or $22/mt over the average weekly Mean of Korea base price for May and June.
