Prices in the Asian styrene monomer market
fell on the day June 6 taking cues from weaker upstream crude oil markets. The front month ICE Brent
crude oil futures contract was down $2.59/b on the day at $75.17/b as of 0830
GMT. A producer in Unv1 said that they
were starting to receive bids for spot cargoes from traders. "Initial discussions for July loading cargoes have
begun. I think the market would be closely
watching [South] Korean producers' operating rates after turnaround. This would give an idea of demand for Korean imports,"
the producer said. Some other market
sources estimated South Korean producers to resume production by July. A market source said the near-term outlook was gloomy. "Supply side, I believe the market would balance itself
