Crude Oil Slips Growing US Stockpiles and Soft Demand Projection

The price of crude oil dropped last week for the second time in a row, just ahead of the scheduled OPEC+ Ministerial meeting. The drop was primarily due to the increase in stockpiles of crude oil in the United States, and Venezuela's efforts to fill the gap created by the tariffs imposed on Canada and Mexico. The market participants will now be watching for the return of Chinese traders after the Lunar New Year holiday later this week in order to gauge the direction energy prices are heading.
